Jeff and I have been very busy this week. Thanks to my mom for helping with Evan, we painted our entire house (including all the wood trim!) except for the spare bedroom. Here's a little comparison on the before and after, sans stencils. We did everything ourselves, except the bathtub & surround resurfacing and the carpet install. In many cases we had to put 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint on the walls to cover the stencils. It took us (+ a few hours of a friend's help on 2 days) 4 days to complete the job.
Next up after the move: window treatments...once I get my sewing machine set up!

gorgeous! Great job, you guys. Love what a little elbow grease can do. Continue to inspire the rest of us :)
WOW!!!! Good work and HARD work to you both! I loveeee your dining room colors. So classy! And man, what a difference white paint can do for a basement! It's like an entirely different room! Congratulations and cant wait to see more as you get settled & furniture in!!!!!
Good god, the stenciling. In the bathroom, did someone try to paint over the tiles and tub? What's going on there? The basement is such a remarkable difference, it looks so much more inviting now.
Beautiful!
Beautiful job! I especially like the dining room - those colors look great together. And I like the blue in Evan's room.
I love what you did in the dining room. Those colors look great in there.
I can't believe the difference in the bathroom. WOW!!!
I bet you can't wait to get settled in.
Well done - it all looks great - hope moving day goes ok and Evan likes his new room.

Congratulations, but Holy Cow with the stenciling! When we bought this house, we discovered the previous owners had allowed the children to SHELLAC coloring book pages to the walls. I walked around with a paint scraper in my pocket for 2 weeks!
Good luck, it looks great!

Congratulations! The walls look so much better without that awful stenciling!
All looks great! Was it very expensive to have the tub and tile done? My tub needs to be refinished/replaced and I'm scared to find out how much!
Teki, it was about $800 for the tub and 3 surround walls. Our stimulus credit will be paying for it. It's a lot less if you just do the tub. As long as you don't scrub it with abrasive cleaner (the tech actually recommended just shampoo) it should last about 10+ years. And no grout mildew to worry about!
I still can't get over those stencils. You guys did a great job! Not to mention looking past the stencils to see the house beneath in the first place.
Your fresh clean walls are a great way to start in your new place.
Best wishes for the new house.

That is an incredible amount of painting in four days. Kudos to you guys. It looks fresh and modern and amazing!
Your wood floors are so beautiful! And the colors you chose in some of these rooms are gorgeous.
great job guys! can't wait to see it for real - maybe in august?
btw, thank you for the recent clothes, Lucas loves getting things from Evan and it's nice that you are thinking of him.
enjoy the new place!
Yay! We're so excited for you!
as i am from PA i had a good laugh because i recognized all those stencils!!!.... stencils were very popular with some (okay many!) people in PA a "few" years ago (i am not one of them!)... your new home looks fantastic and reading about your moving back to PA has made me homesick!... i lived near where you are now for several years but New Mexico is now home... the homesickness will leave next winter!
Wow, it looks great!
What a transformation! It looks fantastic. I love the colors you've chosen. And those wood floors are beautiful!
